It is often argued that cheap and efficient transportation is the key to successful international business, while others believe that advanced technology plays a more important role. Although affordable transportation is undoubtedly essential for global trade, I believe that technology has become slightly more significant in modern international commerce.

On the one hand, supporters of transportation systems argue that international business heavily depends on the movement of goods between countries. Cheap and fast transportation can significantly reduce logistics costs, allowing companies to increase profits and offer more competitive prices. This is especially important for businesses that deal with fresh food, medical supplies, or electronic products, all of which require timely delivery. In addition, well-developed transport infrastructure, such as airports, shipping ports, and railway networks, enables companies to expand into overseas markets more easily. Without efficient transportation, international trade would become slow, expensive, and unreliable.

On the other hand, many people believe that technology is even more important because it has transformed the way global businesses operate. Modern communication technologies, including video conferencing, cloud computing, and e-commerce platforms, allow companies to cooperate across borders without requiring frequent travel. Moreover, technologies such as artificial intelligence and automation can improve productivity, reduce labor costs, and increase operational efficiency. Another important point is that some industries, particularly digital services and online education, rely almost entirely on technology rather than transportation. The COVID-19 pandemic clearly demonstrated this trend, as many international companies continued operating successfully through online communication and remote working systems.

In my view, both transportation and technology are essential for international business because they support different aspects of global commerce. Transportation mainly ensures the movement of physical goods, whereas technology facilitates the flow of information and communication. However, I believe technology has a slightly greater influence nowadays because it not only improves business efficiency but also changes business models entirely. Many international companies can now operate globally with minimal physical contact, which would have been impossible in the past.
